what is nopey snoot?
nopey snoot is my monicker that i (harry) use as a musician, artist and digital creative. it's also the name of my first dungeons & dragons character. even though the story of my d&d character might be more interesting, this page is about me instead.
why music?
i truly create music because i enjoy it. as much as it is something i do for myself, music is better shared, and so it is equally something i do in consideration for others. music provides a way to create meaningful connections, to express oneself, and to feel things deeply. i love it when the lyrics i write resonate with someone, or when the instrumental lets someone escape for even just a few minutes.
how music?
i write and produce music from my bedroom as an outlet for me to express myself and my creativity while i navigate my experiences, whether they be tumultuous relationships, disability, or matters of expression and identity. guided by intuition and feeling, i let this creative expression influence my musical approach to create art that is authentic to me, unbound by musical conventions.
wait, so why the name again?
well, the name comes from my d&d character, who is a bard, a minstrel, a tale teller. as it would have it, this reflected me a little bit too. so though the origins of the name are a little silly, it was a name i still connected with but one i could also create a degree of separation with between my creative identity and my real life vulnerable self. this separation enables me to better balance between and manage creative expression, business practice and mental health, which are integral to navigating the digital online space.
